Great little shop and tea room.
Petit dtour pour magasiner, boire un the ou faire un tour dans le muse
If youre in the west side of the island (and perhaps visited Labrador too), then going to St Anthony to see these properties is well worth the visit. The context to understand the way the people lived is given here. Dr. Grenfell did a lot for the communities in the area by advocating the building of proper social infrastructure and education of the masses about basic health and wellness. I found it insightful to understand the way of life for many of the settlers in the area and to see the efforts and vision of Dr. Grenfell which is to help those help themselves and not just pure charitysomething lost on todays society. The visitor centre will likely be the first building you see so go in, get yourself oriented and pay for the admissions for the exhibit and the home. There is a short video to watch and a very extensive exhibit display. You will not be disappointed with the amount of information or the depth of details of the displays. At the end of the stay, you can move onwards to the house or the gift/craft shop on site. The shop is full of worthwhile type souvenirs with a good emphasis on the Grenfell parkas and coats. I didnt get the chance to find one I liked because we were short on time but theres a website too.
